Ed aka Trunk Dog was born about September 8, 2013 and weighs about 85 lbs. He is one BIG guy with TONS of fur so he needs a home that enjoys brushing their dogs. Why is he called Trunk dog? Well, it was a Saturday and a car pulls up. A guy gets out saying he wants to show us what is in the trunk of his 4 door sedan. I cautiously walk somewhat closer to the rear of his car when he pops the trunk and there is a HUGE, very mated, Golden mix just laying there, filling up the entire trunk, obviously not his first time. Ed was on his way back from getting a rabies vaccine as his owners were passing by and they were chatting that they'd like to start traveling some in the near future. They saw the sign and decided now would be as good of time as any to drop Ed off. Now about Ed: He enjoys the company of other dogs, but would be best living as an only dog. If there is another dog they should be fed separately as he has some resource guarding which can involve his toys or food. He loves his humans, may need a bit of warm up time at first. In his last home he was good with kids as young as 2 - they said the kids would play on top of him...really not a good idea. We are told he is fine with cats. He is good on leash, they took him to the best trainer in town when he was young and he travels well in a car, just hoping we can find an owner who allows him to sit inside the car this time. Ed will hang with you while you are outside going your chores. He loves balls and Kongs and can be a chewer so needs some tough toys. He will chase after the toys and bring them back for you to throw again. Ed also, very much, loves water!
